EKU is committed to protecting your personal data and privacy in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Denmark law. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user.

2. Registration of Information
EKU registers information about course participants and customers. For students the names, email and correspondence are stored for a minimum of 5 years. For customers the names, email, contacts and customer information, such as VAT number, billing details, are stored for a minimum of 5 years.
This information is processed exclusively internally and confidentially and is used solely in connection with the delivery and documentation of enrolled courses and certificates. As a minimum, EKU needs the course participant's full name, which will appear on the course certificate, and email address. It is the responsibility of the course participant to check that the name is spelled correctly.
EKU also registers information about the course participants' actual time spent and test results. Most information is stored for a minimum of 5 years and up to 10 years.

4. Legal Basis
The processing of personal data by EKU is based on the necessity to fulfill a contract—such as providing access to e-learning services and issuing course certificates—as well as to comply with legal obligations under accounting and documentation laws. In certain cases, data is also processed based on EKU ’s legitimate interest in ensuring proper platform functionality, providing support, and maintaining records of user activity for internal use and compliance.
5. Data Security
EKU implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to safeguard personal data. These include encryption of data transmissions, secure servers, access control systems, and internal policies ensuring confidentiality and restricted data access. We continuously assess and update our security practices to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of personal data.

We may revise this Privacy Policy as needed. Any updates will be published on our website and are effective immediately upon posting.
